Do your music students experience pain or discomfort while playing?
Do some of your students have performance anxiety, either on stage or off?

Are your students preparing for Region and All-State auditions? Have me in to work on All-State etudes and excerpts! I am able to work with all instrumentalists as a movement educator and professional musician.
-
If your students are mentioning pain or performance anxiety, I am able to give an interactive lecture on common musician-health concepts, such as performance anxiety, injury prevention, pain reduction, and instrument setup.
-
My residencies can include masterclasses to give students an opportunity to perform and receive feedback from me. Masterclasses can be viola-specific or include all instrument and voice types. I help students find a better sound through somatic principles and/or work with students who are experiencing pain, discomfort, or performance anxiety.
-
As a Licensed Body Mapping Educator, I am able to present the 6 hour course "What Every Musician Needs to Know About the Body" at any institution. This foundational course for the Association for Body Mapping Education helps musicians find a better sound through movement, studying anatomy, and visualization.
-
Students are often unaware of how to maintain their health when learning to play an instrument. These presentations often cover topics like reed/mouthpiece maintenance, how to clean the instrument, and what not to do with your instrument.
-
As a performing arts health advocate and researcher, I am able to provide lectures from the elementary level to the college level regarding the current state of performing arts health research and why this is important to musicians and music educators.
-
I am able to teach group movement classes that encourage music students to become more aware of their bodies. This includes ELDOA group classes.
